We went to Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound on the way out of Bar Harbor, the last lobster stop of the trip. \u00a0Sadness. \u00a0You would think I would get tired of eating lobster (in a multitude of forms) after four\u00a0days in a row, but no– that’s silly. \u00a0Thank goodness because this one was the best one of the trip!<\/p>\n

Full disclosure: this is not a lobster roll! \u00a0Not in the strictest sense. \u00a0I mean, if you think lobster roll is bread, lobster, mayo, then yeah. \u00a0But if you’re talking lobster, mayo, AND butter toasted split-top bun, then no. \u00a0However, the non-lobster roll-y-ness of this decidedly lobster sandwich<\/em>\u00a0does not detract from it’s excellence. \u00a0The lobster was cooked to perfection: sweet, fresh, tender, flavorful. \u00a0There was a substantial amount of lobster meat on the sandwich (the other side was more full, but I had eaten it before taking a picture, oop) as well. \u00a0The lobster\u00a0was dressed fairly lightly and though the bread itself also had a mayo spread on it, this\u00a0did not interfere with\u00a0the lobster flavor. \u00a0This was no ordinary sandwich bread either, it had a light and\u00a0sproing-y texture to it that complemented the lobster well. \u00a0It was also the closest thing to a good case for not toasting\u00a0the bread in butter. \u00a0I didn’t even mind the single leaf of (butter?) lettuce!<\/p>\n

The lobster sandwich was accompanied by some plain salted chips, sweet pickles and a grape tomato with a slice of cucumber speared by a lobster topped toothpick. \u00a0We also picked up some steamer clams (yum!), crabmeat sandwich (accidentally yum!), and blueberry pie here.<\/p>\n

All in all, a very very satisfying experience. \u00a0Next time, I want to try the lobster dinner.<\/p>\n
